Folks seem to get tired of looking at all the same ones, and then they stop commenting. Maybe I should put up more philosophical posts, but, even though I'm a wordy guy, I just can't bring myself to address that sort of subject … I'll give it a glancing blow, but I don't like to stick around for much more than that.
On the other hand, I'll photograph the same subject over and over … I think it's partly because conditions change, and partly because I'm seeing things that I haven't seen before. Some folks may find that boring … I sure don't. I think (uh-oh, this is getting philosophical!) that the more familiar one is with a subject, the more little details come to one's attention, and the more insight one has into its nature. Maybe other folks see that differently … they can't stay in one place for a long time; they have to have fresh subject matter. I find that my first pictures of a place are pretty pedestrian, and it's only later that I start to get the stuff I really want. I'm the guy that spends an hour or two setting up a shot, waiting for the light, etc. of something that everyone else steps on while they're trying to get the standard tourist shot of the mountain in the distance.
So, here we go … these are edges, again, mostly … dawn and dusk …
I like the "implication" of the sun's position in these. Dawn at the lake can just blow me away.
Apparently this fellow thought the early sunlight was a blessing, too:
But not all mornings are so clement … A misty, moisty morning, and cloudy was the weather …
And here comes the sun … (do I dare say "do do do do"?) …
Not so nicely arranged, but some wavelets for Pam…
And a self-portrait, of sorts … LOL
And, moving right along … another dawn …
Everything almost glows when the sun hits it.
No mackerels, but this is better, anyway … a mackerel sky.
and one who sails the sky …
And meanwhile, two gulls "on station" at the lake …
And the Autumn is coming … I suppose that might be the "edge of Autumn".
Now, folks, you might as well settle back and watch, 'cause there's a bunch coming … all from one day, one morning … I couldn't stop shooting; the light was so amazing. And there's no strawberry shortcake at the end, either, so brace yourselves.
And one … after all that, late at night:
Uh … sorry about the strawberry shortcake.
