Got some time?

26 May

This is a long one, and I won't blame anyone for not sticking around for all of it; it takes 1:27:21 .. and no, I am NOT kidding!
It's Mahler's Symphony #2, "The Resurrection", and it's one of my favourites. Oh, why couldn't I have been a Pop Music fan? LOL

I've downloaded it … if you can't get it, I'll send you a copy. I personally prefer the Solti, but hey, it was free.

Great production and nice that it's free. I agree the Solti version is better. Mahler is one of my favs, along with the 3B's. Thanks for posting it.

I had the great good fortune (and surprise) to go to the Chicago Symphony when Solti was being vetted for conductor … and of all things, they played Mahler's 2nd, complete with off-stage orchestra. I was drained … there's something overwhelming about eight french horns playing fff, and that gong at the end … all I could think of afterwards was, "Play it again!".
