Just to inform you all that I have just now posted a VERY strange bunch of pictures by my dad … I've never seen him do any others like these, and I didn't know that these existed before I found them in an envelope while I was going through some of his drawings. Illustrations for a children's book come to mind, but nowhere can I find any references to anything of the sort. Your guess is as good as mine.
Have a look:

A very nice collection, as per usual, d_W. It strikes me with a repeating theme in the series, of your Dad's preferences and commitment to: the sea and sailing, nature, the human form, a little diverse experimentation, his devotion to his faith and religion. Prospectively, on those sketches you discovered in the envelope, do you think he possibly adapted or employed a more childlike style or presentation, to stimulate an appreciation for art in his children and other youngsters? Perhaps, together with a commission for a children's book to accomplish two goals. In any event, the gallery of your Dad's art is very enjoyable.

I really like these dW. My first thought was that he did these with the thought of doing a children's book.
