Being “stuck” around the apartment, in order to avoid going “stir crazy”, I’m finding myself shooting more and more pictures of the common sights around the place; finding pictures where I’d not have looked, before. I’m also finding that new approaches and techniques are necessary in this new type of photography, so I’m finding myself confronting a new learning curve, necessary for the new subject matter.
I reckon it’s time to stop talking now, and put up a couple of pics …
Kinda contrasty, what with the direct sunlight on that dirty window, and no, I’m not about to go leaning out that second-floor window, stretching out around to clean all the crud off the glass. There are two double-pane sliding windows on each side, and that’s outside my limits.
And another one, with Fuzzybritches as the subject …
Not so bad, this time … the dirty window actually seems to help with the contrast. Incidentally, those light dots are not crud on the glass; they are actual white flowers in the lawn. Mr. Cat was assiduously ignoring me; he tires of watching the antics of the Man-Mountain that lives in his house.
Well, there they are … not very many, especially considering the total number of exposures that I made … I don’t get so many usable ones, working in these new conditions.
Take care, folks … Cheers!

Those photos have a nice contrast to them both. I love how the scene through the window is a little misty, as if emphasising how unimportant it actually is and that your furry housefriend is enjoying staring through a window.
We had a cat who loved doing that, too.

Thanks, Harry … your positive attitude is always refreshing.
Most cats love to look out of windows, and if they can find a spot of sunlight, they’re in heaven.

Thank you, I hope that I am encouraging. Always good to know if I have succeeded in getting across what I feel.
Cats sure do love looking out of windows for sure.

Nice shots dW. I know what you mean about needing to get out. I’ve shot just about everything around here. One help, our dog needs walking a couple times a day–wife does it in the morning and I do in the lat afternoon. It keeps us both going.

Thanks, Merle … I find that I miss our old doggie more than ever, nowadays.

I like these a lot. The second one especially with kitty. But I like the contrast of the first. I don’t think it’s too contrasty at all. It’s fun finding interesting things around you to take pics of. I live in a very small trailer now so not much inside at all. But I will make the best of it for the time being.

Can’t tell you how glad I am that you’re back in Phoenix … Fargo was no place for you … and your daughter was a bit of a tyrant.

Rania, dear! … ‘Tis glad I am to see you here … I had nearly given up hope, because all the evil I could imagine happening in your tortured land! I am so glad that you are still alive, and well enough to use your computer. Welcome back!

Nice, dW. Good to work with what we can. I dare say, my windows are dirtier than this. “the antics of the Man-Mountain that lives in his house.” 🙂

Thanks, Jill … My quarrel is with the management/owners of the building … they could surely afford to pay, or at least subsidise, a yearly, or perhaps semi-yearly general window-cleaning by professionals … you know, chaps with ladders and other things for washing windows. Even a discounted rate might get a few windows washed, which would be an improvement.
As to Fuzzybritches, he’s typical of cats in his territoriality … regards his humans as furniture.

I think my mom’s Yorkie regards me as furniture. I’m a chair. A chair with nothing to say about it. Or, so you would think… I hope you’ll get a good storm that’ll wash clean all the windows for you.

Oh I won’t even get started on landlord/management issues.
