It’s been pretty cold, lately …

16 Feb

… And our windows have been freezing up o’ nights. I’ve been jumping up, mornings, to  get the proper light, and finally got a couple of shots. It’s difficult, due to the fact that the ice on the windows is transilluminated from the outside, and the light has to be just right, or I’ve got no picture at all. Frustrating, it is, and no mistake.

I finally managed to get these two; the colour is different in either one, because of the changing nature of the light. Here they are; the earliest first:

Well, there they are, folks, for whatever it’s worth … at least it’s something.

Take care … Cheers, all!

Very interesting window ice. I like the colors and the patterns are very unusual. Our house is so dry we don’t get any frozen ice on the windows. 😦

Thanks, Merle … We have double-paned windows, and I haven’t run the humidifier all this year, but in really cold weather, the windows ice up at night. We’ve had some winters where the ice lasts well into the day.

If you didn’t say it’s ice on windows, I wouldn’t have the slightest idea what it is 🙂

It is a little obscure, this year, isn’t it?

Good to hear from you, Rania … I’ve been a little worried about you, living where you do.
I don’t go out much in the cold weather, and the heat in my apartment is more than adequate.
I think the cat is pretty typical of cats; he doesn’t mind sleeping a lot.

Almost look like photos of earth from space. Since I’m no longer in North Dakota, I don’t see the ice on windows anymore. That’s fine by me. Hope it warms up for you soon. It’s in the high fifties in the morning here in Arizona, then shoots up to almost 90 in the day. I’m loving it.

Glad you’re back where you belong, Pam. The more I heard about your living arrangements, the more I thought that you’d be better off just moving back to Arizona, although the weather there has been a touch rigourous of late.

I hope now that things are thawed you can enjoy a lilac or two as they come into their own. Nice pictures above, dW. Thought I’d been by, must have missed these. The first looks like a white-sprayed Christmas tree.
