Lurkey Turkey …

30 Jul

Riding about yesterday, I happened to notice this youngster feeding by the side of the road. He’s smallish, especially when you compare him to the two I showed in an earlier post. Judging by his size and the time of year, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he were a hatchling from this Spring, possibly an offspring of the pair in the previous post. So, at least one hen survived long enough to produce at least one egg.
Here are the best four shots, with no commentary:

That’s it; what else is there to say?
Cheers, all!

Great pics! The turkey looks pretty alongside the wild flowers.

Thanks. Luck, really. I think he was eating the clover, but I’m not sure. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t eating the chicory.

Thank you, Eva. I understand you don’t have these in Europe.

That is right we have only farmed Turkey . In the wild they would not survive

I was so surprised when I saw a wild turkey in Kootenay last year, lurking through the camp we spent the night in. Not an animal you see very often over here 😀
