These were just pics in the camera … not much to them, but I thought I’d post them anyway.
This first is of a wall-plaque sort of thing that was my daughter’s. It’s on my wall, now. I don’t know who it is supposed to be, but as she was a Buddhist, we might as well say it’s a head of the Buddha.
I guess.
Anyway, I was running some focusing tests on the Oly, and this happened to catch my eye.
I actually rather like it, and not just because it was hers … for one thing, the colours harmonise nicely with that part of the room, and it also seems to have a serenity of expression that I find pleasant.
This one was strictly a picture of opportunity … I was riding by and the sunglint on the water was incredibly bright. I made a couple of shots of it, and this is the best one. I can see now that there were some editing errors, and if I ever fix ’em, I’ll post that one here, too. But this is what I’ve got now, and it’s not all that bad:
Well, I just reworked the editing on the one above, and here it is, if I can convince this dippy software to post it:
And this one is the only one of a batch where I was trying to capture the sunlight on these trees … it’s the only really acceptable one; I was fighting sunflares all the time, and this one didn’t have them. More by good luck than good wit, I reckon.
Nothing else … we’ve been having dull grey everything lately, and the weather most inclement.
Cheers, all!

We have flash flood conditions here in the Twin Cities area. A very rainy day. (Not so bad for a photographer, though.)

We’re having warnings about flooding here, too, but so far, nothing’s happened. Lots of electrical storms, but mostly at night when you can’t see much, anyway. You’ve seen pictures of the court I look out on … not much good for watching weather. First place I’ve ever lived where I couldn’t watch storms.
I understand that Nikon makes a “Lightning trigger” … I’ll have to investigate that.

The lightning trigger feature would be much fun! Unless, it causes YOU to venture our into the storm to see it! 🙂
Stay safe, dW.
Yes, our local path is completely awash in places. Made for a wonderful couple of photos, however. I may post one here…

Very much not fond of hanging masks on walls. There are some things that even new born babies are scared of, and I say there has to be a reason for that.

With some masks, I can agree …

A nicely random selection. The colours are definitely better on the second edit of photo #2.

Thanks, Paul … I managed to control the “ghost outlines”, too, where two “selections” come together.

This spring is rather rainy than sunny and every day when you don’t have to look at a grey sky is a reason to spend it out 🙂
We are having such day today and will go to a one day hike to Garibaldi lake. They say there are still some snow around but I hope a trail is clear so we won’t have to struggle too much 😛

Have a good trip; I’m sending you my good luck. I’ve got so little of it left that I won’t miss it.

Maybe, Rania. I’ve always felt that kind of harmony, on the big scale of things, although everyday life is quite different (You must be aware of that, where you live.). The trick is to remember that harmony while the world is going crazy around you. As Hushpuppy says at the end of the movie:
“When I relax behind my eyes I see everything that made me flying around in invisible pieces. When I
look too hard it goes away, but when it all goes quiet, I see they are right here …
I see that I’m a little piece of a big, big universe, and that makes things right.”
I like that, and that’s how I’ve always felt.
Thank you; I worked that photo up once and got too hasty … I could see the things that went wrong. I’m much happier with the second version.

I do love the Buddha. How big is it? At first, I thought it was a brooch. You captured the water sparkling in the sun very nicely.

11″, very top to very bottom.
Thanks. I really was relying on Photoshop to get it right, but as you can see, it took me two tries.

“. The trick is to remember that harmony while the world is going crazy around you” very important point . Sometimes I try to achieve this harmony when I’m in good spirits but, unfortunately, in most cases, the pressure of my miserable reality take me away from my goal, i think i can achieve that when i have a wise angle with wide experiment like yours , maybe life guarantee for me realizing that
