Some mo’ cat shots …

11 Apr

Folks seemed to like the shot of Mr. Cat (not to be confused with Mr. Katz) in the last post, so I figured I’d put some more up. These are from separate days, all after the last one, and they’re from the little Oly, because that camera seems to be at hand much more than the Nikon, which has to be fetched from its accustomed resting place and fished out of its bag (see my old MyOpera posts on camera bags … November 12 & 13, 2011) before it can be brought into action. All this, I suppose, is a reinforcement of the old axiom “The best camera is the one you have in your hand when you need a camera.”
Anyway, here are the shots, captions below each, if needed:

“What’s that out there?”

“I wish he’d just leave his pants here all the time.”

“Hmmm … nice new cushion …”

In this one, you can see the horror of that hair clump on his back … it’s getting to be the time that I have to immobilise him and cut it off. Sigh!
Anyway, folks … here you go.
Take care …
Cheers, all!

The first two look like paintings. Beautiful pics.

Thank you … I enjoy the chiaroscuro, too, though there’s not too much I could do to change it.
BTW … I like your last, but haven’t been able to get back to remark about it. It’s restful.

Thank you, Eva … he’s quite photogenic. He does like his home. It’s just too bad that the flat we rent is carpeted … the carpet gathers dust and cat hair, and we’re always stuffed up and sneezing. We never had carpet before; in our own house we had bare hardwood floors and small area rugs … no cat hair problem at all.

This cat sounds a bit like Leffe. Every time I took out the Camera he put up his head in a special pose. He also where very patient Waiting for me. I also had a lot of Leffe everywhere ….Carpeted floors is terrible together with pets so i understand ..

Very fine gentleman, indeed. Funny thing is, that my own cat, at this very moment, has the exact same pose as your Mr. Cat in the last picture. Only, she’s in the window sill. Her favorite. She’s not as furry as him, though. I can imagine he demands quite a lot in the grooming department.

Unfortunately, these stupid windows don’t have sills. I’ve constructed a substitute in the living room, but the wife insists upon filling it with plants, which can’t take that amount of sun. I’ll make another, padded one in the bedroom. He’ll love it.
The grooming is a bone of contention … see my remark to that effect somewhere in these two postings. This is the last time I’ll allow a long-haired cat into the place.

Looking forward to your return dW. Hope you get everything squared away in regards to your computers.

I agree about the first two shots looking like they could be used for references in paintings. Nicely done.

Oh do I know about those big fur knots! My son had a cat named Sophie (after Sofanisba Anguisola). We guessed she was a Main Coon type cat. Somewhere I’ve got a snapshot of her. Sweetest cat ever. Her fur was so thick. I’d have to cut them off when I’d come visit.

I’d sometimes call her Queenie just because of the way she’d lay on top of the couch like a queen overlooking her underlings. Plus, she would saunter across the room all sexy like and look over her shoulder at you as if she was saying “you can come along now”.

Well, he’s still here, as cranky and horny as ever. Can one get rubber bands small enough to neuter a cat? Otherwise, it’s gonna cost me money.
