… but at least it’s not snowing.
I never thought I’d be so glad to see a rainy day.
Cheers, all!

Living where you do, it must be doubly precious. I love it, too … sometimes we get a bit too much, but we can’t get along without it.

so precious , Syria dependent on agriculture

Yes, although in the past, the quantity of rainfall in Syria seems to have been sufficient. It’s never been what we would call “well-watered”, but it was enough to feed the country.
The present troubles would seem to have changed the ground rules of farming, however … I cannot estimate the effect.
Thank you for visiting, Rania.

“I never thought I’d be so glad to see a rainy day.”
Lol! But considering how many snow you’ve had this winter…

Yes … as I recall, the record this season was 92 consecutive days with snow on the ground.

I hope floods won’t start now when it’s melting on the mountains.

Hope the weather continues to improve. It looks pretty grey in that shot.

Grey today, too. Snow to the north of us, rain, sleet and tornadoes to the south of us. We’re in an island of raw, cold winds. It’ll be grey for a while. That’s spring in the Great Plains.

what makes the situation worst is that this year is considered an arid one , so the a tragedy doubled ( war + drought)

Unfortunately, too much rain would make the floods return to the south of England. Even driving around last night I had to negotiate a few bits of waterlogged road – and I still have to be careful of the potholes still not filled in from this winter’s floods that washed away a lot of road surfacing from the back roads.

Our extreme winter this past season has left the roads and city streets in Depression-Era condition, Too many freeze-thaw-freeze events, exacerbated by a great bloody lot of rock salt and (get this!) salty cheese-whey (no, really!) have done their dirty deeds. We could use all-new roads (which we seem to be getting; Wisconsin has two seasons: Winter and Construction). I am given to understand that Scotland supplies most of our road salt … I suppose we’ve exhausted our own stuff. Americans like bare pavement, and no two ways about it.

Salty cheese-whey – let’s not give our Government any more ideas about what to throw onto our roads in the winter :whistles:
