Anyone know what this is?

02 May

OK … I rescued this poor plant from an old lady who seemed intent on neglecting it to death … it was one long bare stem, with one miniature leaf at the top, and a couple of even smaller ones at the base. I cut off the stem, and started watering and feeding, and I got this:

It's like a violet, but I've never seen one like this … the leaves are small and not a bit like African violets (St. Pauli?), being more spear-shaped with obvious veins, and fuzzy.
But the weirdest part is the blossoms, which have that long tubular part, and grow at the ends of those long, slender stems, far away from the leaves:

I have no idea what this is; it's quite pretty, even though it has a tendency to get a bit leggy.
Any ideas?

It's pretty, and I particularly like that the leaves are furry!

nice job nursing it back! it is delicate and lovely. I don't care for violets, but I find that I like this one very much.
