We finally had a little snow.

25 Feb

A "random" veering of the storm some 60 miles northward did the trick, and took us (temporarily, I'm sure) out of our dry "pattern", which has kept us nearly snowless, all season, so far. We still, even with this 8" or so, are well below half our "normal" totals for this date. The local farmers will be voicing their complaints this Spring, I'm sure.
But, I did manage to get a few nice ones, despite the pressures of errands that I was running … a nice wet, sticky sort of snow, that makes for nice pictures.
Here they are, with minimal commentary:

Those utility poles really do lean at that angle … at first I thought I had to straighten them, but when I got the building straight, it was apparent that the poles really were leaning.
Next, a series driving through the park:

And then home, to take some meds for my gimpy (temporarily) leg, and quiet afternoon.
Cheers, all!

Beautiful set of photos! It reminds me of two things: how different our winters are and how much I have to learn yet… Loved them all, but through the park series won me.

Nice shots  I'm rather enjoying springtime now. But it's still around -20c in southern Saskatchewan, where I'm headed in a couple of weeks, so I'm not putting my snowboots into storage just yet :smurf:Looks like good snow – pretty, but doesn't mess up the roads!

Very nice shots! They certainly capture the feeling of dampness and cooler temperatures. Best wishes on your leg! I've had problems with my ankle since May. I just found out it is fractured and I managed to tear the ligaments too. But it's getting better.

These are an excellent example of scenes along Lake Michigan 'up north" and a couple of the areas even look like Charlevoix. I had a hard time leaving them. Very good.

Merle: They only look "up north", these are shot from the shore just south of Milwaukee. Charlevoix, eh? Spent some happy hours up there a few decades ago, lounging on lawn chairs, eating grilled kielbasa and kraut, and drinking Stroh's longnecks. Vacationed a few times in Bellaire, on the Chain o' Lakes, and at a friend's on Torch Lake.Good times, good times.Noptey: Nope. All gone now … it's 83°F out there now, in the craziest winter I've ever seen. Well, it's Spring now … but no one could tell the difference.
