A couple of days last week …

21 Dec

Well, actually a couple of weeks ago … the first batch gave me so much trouble in getting them ready, that it's only just now that I've got them into publishable form. They were just plain difficult, mostly because each part of some of the photos required a different treatment. I reckon I ought to know better than to take pics like that. The weather was actually pretty bad, which gave me extra trouble with the funny lighting.
Here they are; the first is a puddle in a carpark:

And then a trip down to the water, later in the afternoon:

And the power plant:

And closer:

I was struck by the view coming down the road to the water, so, on the way back out, I pulled the car off the road and shot this sequence of three:

And a couple of days later, on a different part of the waterfront, and a VERY different sort of day, these reminded me of Word's gulls, huddling for warmth:

And I like this one, because it gave me the opportunity to crop it into three horizontal stripes:

And I couldn't resist the light illuminating these reeds:

And that's it …
Cheers, all!

Interesting series, DW  I like the horizontal stripes – that would make for an unusual flag :DThe reflections in the puddle are excellent as well.

Thanks, Adele … As I look back at these, I can see that I maybe should have posted them in an album … especially those darker ones. I'll do that, now … I put them here because I like to talk; hopefully the larger size in an album will open them up a little.

Thank you, both. Sami, the bigger ones in the album open those dark stormy ones up a little … but they ARE dark, and there's no denying it.Judith, I suspect you know by now that it was Adele that remarked about the cloth.

nice contrasts, sun- and brooding sky. the stormy cloud coverage made an excellent shot with the rocks below- looks nippy out for sure!

The silly part is that it wasn't cold at all … temps in the 40°s (F). I was shooting without my glomitts on, and my jacket was open. Normally at this time of year, there are piles of ice on the beach and rocks, I'd have a down vest under my jacket, and my glomitts on.I think we're having Fimbul-Summer. LOL

Very nice series of photos despite all the difficulties it gave you. We've also been having cloudy weather. Some days the clouds aren't pretty at all because they've merged into a uniform, light gray sky.
