OK, folks, for some really stupid reason, this damned software is refusing to accept "Enter" as a line ending, and that poem up there came out like prose. I even went back and put TWO "Enters" at the end of each line, and it still comes out like this.
If anyone has any ideas, I'm willing to listen.

try using <—br> (without the dashes of course) where you would normally put "enter"

OK … I'll try anything once … LOLIf that doesn't work, I'll type it out and print it, and then photograph it, so I've got a jpeg to paste in….HOT damn! (Even older typewriters didn't have "Return"; they had a big ol' lever that you pushed the carriage back with.)

sometimes when putting a video in a post, it helps to use the br coding due to the coding of the video. so if your return/enter doesn't work, always try the br coding. that is what i have to do when it don't work for me.glad my idea worked for you.

It is Middle English … the thorn was still in use at that time, but (as English has always been) not consistently. If a chap wanted to use it, he used it; if not, not. This is from a MS in the British Library:Mid-13th Century.It is interesting to note that the Latin gloss is a religious piece, quite different in spirit from the original.

Brussels sprouts aren't available in early summer, Red … and I think they'd like baked beans, but they're terrible at cooking. You're entirely welcome, Teresa … I have thought of trying to learn some of those things, but, as you may have guessed, this old brain is so cluttered with things that have got lost in there over the years that anything new seems to slip in between other things and become lost. If it comes gradually, I might have a chance to get a grip on it and store it where I can find it again.

You could just use your blog of notes (OMG I want you to know I'm learning your language and needing help with the daily vocab, Hehe! as you can see I'm doing my best in learning something new right now -exercise for my brain I guess)… I was talking about how you could use a memory help: using that Windows accesory called Notepad -that simple text editor located in 'all programs' in the Windows button. I use it all the time as a memory help. For it, I've attached it to the Taskbar ready to be used whenever I want. Ooops, excuse me dW for taking the liberty to suggest such a thing. 😮 :p

He could also send it to the desktop as a shortcut icon as well. That would help him for whenever he needed to remember something, he could just click/double click it and up it pops with a page ready to be written on.

You betcha, Squeak! I got my nice new HP Slimline with Vista in it, because they wouldn't let me have XP Pro. Well, it's a doorstop, now … Vista committed suicide and took the machine with it. I haven't got the lucre, filthy or otherwise, to get it fixed yet, and I can't do it myself because it cuts my hands up when I try to get things out … and I have small hands. Every pooter repair person I talk to says the same thing happens to them.I think I need a li'l drinkie.

+ 1 certainly… I've never understood that Vista. So I don't want it in my machine: in fact, I have in it a XP light version called "Element Edition", W7, and Ubuntu. BTW I'm trying right now that hybrid between Vista & XP called W7… I like it in some way but having serious troubles with my wireless card. What a mess! 😦

My son has W7 64-bit … he loves it, and my German friend says it's the most stable Windows she's ever seen.Personally, I think they would have done better sticking to Win 98 … I don't know anyone who didn't like it. We would have probably been to Version Eight or Nine by now. I'm still running it on an old 387 IBM that's being used for a letter-writing machine.

I'm glad I have my XP. If it weren't for being able to get a new comp with it on it, I don't think I would have gotten my Acer Aspire that I got a year ago.There are a lot of companies out there that will still sell a comp with XP on it, as a lot of people refuse to use the Vista.Microsoft killed themselves when they did Vista.

I'm using Vista not willingly as it is a laptop and the battery fails after 3 hours with it. The stuff Microbrain allows to phone home waxes my connection too.But it doesn't appear that different to XP apart from the fact I can play DVDs on the basic install. I still had to fetch a PDF reader, Java runtime and etc.Same old same old.

OOPS.Now I feel guilty.I have to admit that I never tried to put Linux on besides another distro till today and I failed.I usually let it have the whole shebang but I wanted to keep a Windows system available.I will have to write to a forum and ask how its done.I suggested getting one from the makers rather than a magazine issue as you can get one tailor made and it will still only cost about the same as a computer magazine.I have a few copies of old windows if you want one. I don't think they will cope with a tablet though. Check ut copyright laws where you are. Since you have the license to run a version of Microsoft it might be possible for you to run a Tiny version of it.I am inclined to believe that since there is material or financial damage involved to any party, I will get a version of Tiny Vista. I'd prefer Tiny XP or 7 but don't have that license on this computer.Tiny is one of the many bootleg versions they work the code backwards and re-engineer it to a more amenable (superior) standard and you get a whole lot more applications in a much smaller framework. It is ideal for a small computer.You can also get Tiny Linux editions. Even Tiny Linux Windows. Never seen them though.
