Some from December …

15 Feb

I was looking through my cataloguing program the other day and found these that I took in December and never got back to. So I put them through Photoshop (leveling horizons, fixing perspective, etc., and getting the tonal relationships right), and figured I'd put them up here.
This is a view of a clinic waiting room and corridor … it's not terribly significant, but here it is, anyway:

These are some taken in the big park as I drove through …

These are of a new spot; I pass it all the time, but this is the first time I've taken the opportunity to make any pictures. There's a minor watercourse through the lower end of the park, and the frozen waterfall over the dam and the ponds (above and below the dam) are part of it. It's usually jammed with fishermen, but this day they weren't in my way.

Now, these are from a couple of days later, at our little beach. I was struck by the late afternoon sunlight, and the patterning of snow on the rocks:

And when I got home, someone was there to greet me:

And that's about it, for now …

I just love this one. The way the scene is lit, plus the vivid colors, are just fantastic. My next favorite is this one showing the rocky shoreline. It was my favorite composition for this theme. The rocks were really eye catching with the bold, white snow and dark shadows. And I liked seeing the rocks, the water, and the sky.Nice post and nice photos.

LOL … it's a HE, Unni, and he would be upset with you for the mistake … he is in the same sort of stage as an 8-year-old boy, who is all macho and has no use for that mushy, girly, love stuff. He's funny.

Hi there, I enjoyed the snowy rocks on the beach ๐Ÿ™‚ Snow and a blue background always look good together…

Zaphira: Yes, he is … it's a lovely colour. The mother might have been frightened by an Irish Setter. LOL A pity that the place where symmetry matters the most, i.e., the face, has such a lack of symmetry. See the photos album "Nikon Experiments".Adele: Thank you … the red light helped a lot, too, I think.

liked them all, they all have something worth taking time out to look at,the one I preferred was the water fall and the space around it,a broken fence the dry twigs, the shape of a cat peeing around just in front of the wall in the foreground….not to mention the tree covered banks in the background….glad i looked.thankyou!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Stevie: I assume you meant "peeking" or "peering", and not what you wrote … LOL. Actually, there is no cat there at all; I'm not quite sure what you are seeing. But that's irrelevant. Thank you.Olga: Thank you … I found them irresistable when I really looked at them.Eva: Thank you, Eva … I try to express the same sorts of feelings that you express about the place you live.

When I view things I see the picture you took, but for reasons unknown i see things in the shadows that objects cast,I think it comes from junior school and learning to write about what we see,we would be given a picture to us to give us inspiration to write a story and always looked to see what wasn't there but looked like it could be…. ๐Ÿ™‚
