Went off to pick up a few items at the local food emporium this morning, and took the camera along, "just in case I should go 'WAY out of my way to visit the Lake shore" … It was a blustery sort of day (still is), and I damn near got rolled over a couple of times. It's deep Autumn here, now, and most of the green and all of the tree leaves have vanished, but there are still enough spots of colour around to create some interest. The water was all sand-coloured, as it is on such days, and it was chilly. Did I say "deep Autumn"? Well, yesterday I was out and got caught in a major hailstorm … the hailstones weren't very big, but there were plenty of them and they came down for quite a while … so it is, indeed, deep Autumn, verging on Winter. I understand the other side of the Lake, the Michigan shore, got accumulations of a few inches of snow. No camera yesterday, alas, but it would have just looked like a rainstorm, anyway. Oh, well …
These are the few I got today, fresh off the card, so to speak …(I didn't get the exposure quite right in this one … it's one of those days when you can't quite see through the finder, it's so dark and contrasty, so I wound up cutting off the bottom.)
That came out a little better.
It looks like one of those pictures that they call "dramatic", but that's the way it looked.
A closer view … I love that stuff (water vapour, I think) coming out of the stack.
And … well, I slid a slider too far when I was working it up … I liked it, so I kept it. It didn't look like this, but it's really kinda groovy:It reminds me of the times when I'd start to ink up an etching plate. I used to use just that colour of ink a lot, too.
And that's the lot … enjoy.
Cheers, all …

All blown away, Babe. That wind was something even the gulls didn't want to be out in.

Oh yey, I like the smoke from the chimney…not that is something healthy, but photo looks very good. Very dramatic and I don't know why but after I saw the chimney and smoke I remembered Willy Wonka and his factory 😀

Ahh, Scott got that color right, prussian blue. Used it a lot. Nice set of photos dW. I too like that last one…the2nd one too. I've got to get used to the 'blustery' part. It's 18 degrees right now, snowing lightly and blustery. Just got back from the store where I bought a couple more turtle necks and some better gloves. The ones I had were useless today.
