Haven't been out much, and have mostly been busy enough while out that taking pictures was not exactly the number one thing on my mind, but I did manage to pick up a few odds and ends …
A couple of nice sunsets, f'rinstance …
And a few flowers, around their peak …
I've always liked irises … on the other hand, I've never been really wild about tulips … they seem kinda unimaginative, I reckon. But I found these three, definitely past their prime, and they amused me. For G&S fans, I call it Three Little Maids from School …
"Three little maids from school are we
Pert as a school-girl well can be
Filled to the brim with girlish glee
Three little maids from school"
Ah, well …

🙂 the sunsets are very powerful … or maybe dramatic … like it … as well as I always like Irises myself … I think it's because of so many German poems about them …

Thanks, Dirk … my grandmother grew lots of irises, and I can still identify iris perfume from a distance.Nathalya Risis … I loved them too, from the first moment I saw them. I'm glad you liked them.

Deb … My son is discharged, and not feet first, either. He came by our place to pick up a 'script that his doc had filled out for him and left with us. So he's home and out of danger. Thanks. And … not a G&S fan? I heard the tune in my head when I saw the things standing there.

@Lara Croft – @dW – I hope your son is doing better.I really enjoyed your photos. I especially loved the top iris, and the tulip maids and poem. Very cute that each of the maids appeared to have two arms. 😀

That was a real prize, Deb … that looks to be a clip from an original production. I've seen several Mikados, from a little theater production on the coast of the Penobscot bay, to the very best I've ever seen anywhere, right here in Milwaukee … and I'm double-damned if I can remember the producers. There was a very good production in 1920s dress, on TV maybe 25 years ago, with Eric Idle as Nanki-poo.The film of Pirates I remember well … Linda Ronstadt was very good, even going to the effort of learning how to sing that style of music. I wish I could say the same for her opposite number, Frederic, played by someone that was named Ken Smith, as I recall.

Aha! I remember now … Brian McDonald was the producer, and it was a Canadian production, Milwaukee-ised for the tour.

The first iris is great. Good eyes and imagination for the tulips.
