This was my old cat … he made it longer than my last one, my white lion, who was more of a companion than this guy was, but this fellow was (is) very dear. He was damn near 20 years old (I've lost track), which is pretty good for a sedentary, overweight cat. Never had a moment's bad health, until the past week, when he stopped eating … always a bad sign.
Anyway, not to get too maudlin, but his presence hasn't left the house yet … not that it ever really does … my white lion still visits now and again, as does our old doggie who passed on some 10 or 15 years ago … "just checking" is the impression they leave when they visit. OK, so I'm a nutter. Put me down as a card-carrying member of The Lunatic Fringe.
Here are some pictures of him, taken over the years, comments and captions where it seems appropriate:
Well, maybe they'll post, now … Frlmnk was having some trouble posting pics, and then, right away, I had trouble posting these … I think Opera's screwing up.
Well, I think 5 minutes is long enough to wait … Remember when Opera was a GOOD browser? And remember when the Community WORKED? Now the browser is painfully slow (when it works at all) and displays some perfectly ordinary websites in a very eccentric fashion … I haven't had a really GOOD version since the 8s … and the Community, despite being "maintained" often, won't do things that it used to do perfectly well before it was "improved".
At last! It works with another browser …
Education is important.
"What in hell do YOU want?"
"Who, ME? I did NOT do it!"
I reckon that's enough … Now I'll try again through the Opera browser; I've got a few snow pics that I promised Risis.

So sorry for the loss of your cat. My son had three cats from about the time he was 17 to 40. Two of them have passed away, the oldest was 20 like yours. I don't see the photos but Opera had downtime yesterday for a few hours for maintenance. So I think there will be a few problems till everything gets squared away with whatever new things they did.

Ok, now I see the pics. What a great looking cat. My son's old one, Beethoven, looked very similar only he was a very small cat.

I am very sorry for your loss. It really hurts when they go, because they bring a bit of extra joy and happiness into our lives. Just looking at the pictures makes me smile. A lovely handsome cat.

So that's all he ate in his life; he refused to believe anything else was food. Just before he died, he stopped eating and lost a lot of weight, but just before that, he was 20 lb. (9.1 kg.).

I'm sorry about your cat. It must be very sad to lose a companion as this. I've not been a pet owner. Those last few shots are beautiful photos.

very healthy cat! look at its fur.and I am sorry for loss. Saloni loves the photos and want the cat now…well it is better than the pet she wanted before she saw your photos..an unicorn..so I must thank you to change her mind 🙂

Unicorns, besides being rare, are very difficult to catch … but Saloni has the most important requirement: she is a virgin. The virgin sits on the ground under a tree in the forest and the unicorn approaches and puts his horn in her lap, at which point he is vulnerable. I leave you to work out the symbolism of that. LOLOLOLOLBut then one is left with the problem of what and how does one keep a unicorn? Not the most "homey" sort of pet. I think an elephant would be easier … but don't tell her that!

It's always difficult to lose a pet. My old collie, Dukie died last year after 15 years? I've lost count myself..Dukie was born with me, and he died with me..Sometimes I think (could swear) I see him wagging his tail, but on second glance he isn't there. Dukie constantly annoyed me with his howling on and on..but I loved him for his gentle nature, and constantly wagging tail. I miss him so much, our pets sometimes touch our lives in ways people can't. Being friends and companions, they manage to etch themselves on our hearts, don't they! I am sorry you've lost such a dear friend DW.
