How curious …

23 Aug

… I’ve had visitors, and I hadn’t blogged anything yet. Curiouser and curiouser …

Apologies if the size/boldness of the type seems rude … I have vision issues, and you’ll have to forgive me. Or not read my blog, your choice. I’m old, is why I have vision problems, and I’m probably cranky and garrulous, too. That’s me. This is my first attempt at a blog; I may keep it up, I may not.

Well, I’m beginning to feel at home with this new machine, and I’m ecstatic to have Opera back (my old machine was running Win98SE, and newer Operas wouldn’t work. Let this be a lesson to you: Don’t upgrade when they invite you to.). I’m using Vista because I had no choice, but I’d have preferred XP Pro. Such is life … the Vista doesn’t seem too bad; at least it runs most of what I want it to run. But I’ll have to get a newer version of Nero Ultra.

While waiting for this new machine to arrive, I used up an awful lot of my 1GB card in my camera … there were almost 300 images by the time I could download it into the machine. I’ve finally worked my way through them, Photoshopping and all that, and I’ve wound up with 164 that are more-or-less worth looking at.

Here are some … I don’t know how many yet, because I don’t know where I’ll stop. If you want to comment, comment, on either this deathless prose or my works of Art.

Thank you, both. I'm contemplating a watermark, as it is called, to prevent them being swiped. My Scottish lassie, herself a pro of some repute, fumes at me when I put them up unprotected. She says they ought to be in "libraries" as the Brits call them … we call them stock photo agencies.

Digimarc has come out with some new software that embeds code in your files that allows you to track the shot anywhere on the internet. It's pretty pricey though! I do have a watermark but seldom remember to use it. I've got to learn that batch processing feature in Photoshop Elements 6 so I can do them all at once. I'm dabbling a bit in that (stock photos).. very recently, just testing the waters to see if there's any interest in my shots but more importantly, learning. Actually/surprisingly, one did sell and not the one that I expected would be the first one… go figure!

Like'em all.comment- one of first – autumn beginning with the what I call a "Traitor Tree", turning first. Those at edge turn first. Less protected as are those farther into a large group or a forest of trees.

right. figured my comment was redundant. I had to grab 10.63 awhile back when an update wiped my about page out, guess they stopped supporting HTML except on blogs. I was hot, man. Lucky I had saved all codes and put it in a blog and with quite a bit of jacking around got my about page back the way I like it. I hate it when things change.
